We visited Harrod’s food hall and ogled the goods. Too expensive to buy anything but we enjoyed seeing how the other half lives. Note the price in the lobster is 34 pounds which is about 68 dollars…yicks! It was swanky but I’ll take Borough market any day.

It was a beautiful day with a big, blustery wind so we went for a walk in Kensington Park. Dexter and a swan engaged in a staring contest…the swan won. The tree’s buds were all exploding and the fragrance of the flower pictured in the last frame was incredible…but I didn’t recognize the bloom.

Today is our last day and we wanted to go to Kew Gardens but the tube service is down and so we’ll explore areas we haven’t yet and visit the famous Abbey Road crossing.

Cheers!

Beware! The crossing you’ll see lots of people standing on while their friends take photos near to the studios is the wrong one. The one on the album cover is further down the street and less well painted. I know this because I’ve been there and dad took some American tourist friends there once. Btw if you are in this part of town, why not head south into “Marylebone village” (between Marylebone Road and Oxford Street) for dinner. My favourite chef in all the world, Peter Gordon, runs The Providores which you’ll easily find on the web.

You think it’s hard to get Indian food in Mad Town, but it doesn’t compare to finding Pretzel Flips in Essex. We have to go to Sun Prairie for those.
Can you sneak us back with you in your luggage OR send us some cheese curds?

Wow, sounds like you explored London extensively! I know what you mean about the smokers though.

Talking of things you can’t normally find, i can’t get baked pretzels for love or money unless i’m willing to travel an hour out of town. :-(

I have so enjoyed your photos and travel writing. I feel like I’ve been on vacation, as well. Your pictures are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for taking us along with you!

I’ve been to Harrod’s and I don’t remember anything that gorgeous (maybe a nice pot of marmalade or bit of chocolate). Sort of puts good old Bloomingdale’s to shame, doesn’t it?
