Day three…Spring in London

Today we had some sun and warmer temps. We walked about and checked out Kensington Gardens, Green Park, and St. James Park. Buckingham Palace surprised me by its simplicity. We ended our day at The National Gallery and enjoyed its impressive collection. Before we left I picked up 4 prints in a neat print-your-own system they have.
We ate very well today. Dino’s in South Kensington was a superb lunch. I had the roast lamb, with veg aqnd potato and it hit the big spot. Alex dined on sirloin steak, and Dex and GH ate pasta carbonara. The tiramisu was delightful and the machiato was the best. Dinner was also in South Kensington at Spago. They do a fabulous wood-fired pizza and we we’re all quite satisfied and pleased. The time change to summer time was welcome and our internal clocks have finally synced up with our locale. Tomorrow we’re driving to Stonehenge, Salsibury, Avebury, and Bath.
Cheers!
London, day two…Borough Market

We enjoyed a wonderful outing today at Borough Market with fellow blogger Ros and Andrew (aka Goon) and then we met Mike and Trig at the pub and had a great time. The market was incredible and I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s huge, with such a wide array of products. We later tried to go to the cinema to see Hot Fuzz but it is rated R-15 here so the boys couldn’t get in. The tube was so crowded tonight that it was overwhelming. Everyone was headed out for a night of fun.
All our bags finally arrived late last night. We are having a great time. These are only a few of the photos we took today…the rest will get flickered when I get a chance.
Cheers!
London, day one
London is fabulous. So totally different than any place I’ve ever been (but I’ve never been out of the US so this isn’t surprising). Here’s some thoughts on our travel so far…
- Our flight was cancelled because of bad weather
- We were lucky and got on the next flight
- Our luggage has yet to catch up with us
- We’re wearing the same clothes as we were on Wednesday
- GH’s sneakers have developed an unusual aroma
- It’s similar to either bad meat or good cheese
- We fear that if the odor escapes it may spark an international incident
- I’m actually overjoyed that there is a clothesline in our WC
- We explored the West End last night
- Today we went to the Imperial War Museum…very cool exhibit of tanks, planes, and artillery
- My camera is almost out of power and the charger is in my luggage
- We’ve eaten some great fish and chips, fabulous macarons, and okay chinese
- It is cold and overcast but we are having fun
- YEEHAW…one of our bags just arrived…3 more to go!
