Geeky kitchens, linky love, and a London meet-up
The appliances in our kitchens really haven’t changed much over the years. Sure refrigerators added ice-makers and televisions to the door panels, cook-top burners put out 15,000 BTUs, and ovens incorporated convection, but the user interface on all these appliances has remained firmly rooted in the analog age with no change in sight. I thought this video was interesting because it points out possibilities. What do you think, are you ready for some technology in the kitchen?
Linky love goes out to What We’re Eating. Amanda and Tyler write this humorous food blog and host the foodblogblog. Their latest creation of red snapper and jicama salad looks so delicious I wish they’d make it for me…but they’ve provided the recipe and that’ll just have to do. If your in the mood for a piggy post then visit Chez Pim. Last week’s poll of cake vs. pie resulted in cake winning by a slim margin of 2. However, if you too adore pie you should stop by CookSister and check out the round-up of her blog event, The Secret Life of Pie.
I’ll be vacationing in London with GH and the boys later this month and Ros at Living To Eat and I are conspiring to have a meet up at the Borough Market on Saturday, March 24th. If you’ll be in the area and want to join us send me an email to vanessaatwhatgeekseatdotcom and I’ll keep you posted on the details.
That’s it for this week my dear readers. Tomorrow is my birthday, I’ll be a fabulous 46. We’re going to see the movie 300 at the IMAX theatre and have all kinds of fun.

Have a great birthday weekend! Is the networked kitchen the birthday gift you asked your GH for? I might have a tendency to turn the stove on just to watch the flames dance. That might be counterproductive to saving energy.
Vanessa, wishing you and your family a safe, pleasant trip. Have fun, and don’t forget to snap all the food pictures and share with us here hehe, cheers !:) ohh..Happy Birthday in advance first, 46 is the new 18, u know ? :))
Happy Birthday!
That was a really interesting video. I suppose my 3 horsepower blender doesn’t fall into the saving energy category…
Jacob, thanks for the b-day wishes. No I’m quite content with my kitchen…well I do covet Brilynn’s blender.
MeltingWok, of course 46 is the 18…or maybe not, I was hell on wheels at 18. Thanks for the b-day cheer and I’ll be posting photos while were gone…I’ve still got one more week before we leave.
Brilynn, in the big picture your blender (yes the one I covet)is hardly the problem. Thanks for the b-day wishes.
happy belated birthday!
we went downtown and ate at the Old Fashioned, walked around the capital, and now we can’t wait for the outdoor farmer’s market!
